SONNIE BADU HONOURED IN AMSTERDAM

UK-based musician Sonnie Badu has been honoured in Amsterdam as the most outstanding Ghanaian contributor to music and culture in the Diaspora for the year 2014

Representative Council of Ghanaians in The Netherlands (RECOGIN) unanimously voted Minister Sonnie Badu as winner of the award. The honour comes with a token and some cash amount to support Sonnie Badu’s outstanding ministry.

A letter signed by the Chairman of Recogin, Charles Vanderpuye and sent to Sonnie Badu and his management, stated that “Sonnie Badu is no doubt the best Gospel singer acknowledged not only by Ghanaians but also by many African nationals. The Ghanaian religious youth in Amsterdam consider the name ‘Sonnie Badu’ a perfect role model for all young Ghanaians in the diaspora.”

Meanwhile, Sonnie Badu has congratulated the Black Stars for their gallant performance at the just ended AFCON 2015 that was hosted by Equatorial Guinea. He stated that the stars have by their performance rekindled the love and support they enjoyed from their fans in Ghana and worldwide.

He reiterated that “Ayekoo Black Stars, you have proven that when you fall it is your choice to rise again or stay down there. You have proven that teamwork pays and God has rewarded your efforts.” Sonnie who is a sports fanatic admonished the stars to believe in themselves despite all odds and not to rest on their oars. The stars came second at the just ended AFCON tournament after they lost 8-9 on penalties to Cote d’Ivoire.
