“Joe Mettle does not deserve the hype he has been given by the public” – Patience Nyarko sparks controversy

Patience Nyarko is in the news today for sparking what many would consider as controversy after making claims that 2017 VGMA Artiste of the Year Joe Mettle is nowhere near the very position the general public seem to place him.

According to a news report by Zionfelix early on, the ‘Obinyanime’ singer made this known on an interview with Christian Agyei Frimpong on Onua FMclaiming most of his songs are public domain song which he has just re-arranged.

Patience Nyarko, on record, said in a video;

“Joe Mettle has not gotten to where he’s being placed by the public. The way people are lifting him up there, he’s not gotten there yet…,”

“How many English songs does Joe Mettle have? Is it not Pentecost and Methodist songs that he sings? If these churches decide to stop people from singing their songs, what would be the fate of Joe Mettle?”

In a development leading to her assertion, Alordia, an event organizer and music promoter (of Ghana Music UK fame) stated that Joe Mettle is the only Gospel artist from Ghana with an international appeal.

She continued that ‘Owanwani’ hitmaker is a “Small Boy” when it comes to Gospel music in Ghana in a way of disagreeing with Alordia’s statement.
