Gospel Singer Cwesi Oteng Opens Up About His Notable Musical Break

Internationally renowned Ghanaian gospel artist Cwesi Oteng recently gave fans some insight into his notably low-key presence on the music scene in recent years.

During a media tour to promote his latest single “Your Love”, the celebrated singer-songwriter appeared on Shobiz TV, opening up to hosts about his extended break since his smash hit 2012 album “Mercy Project.”

According to Oteng, the pause was a conscious decision to step back and recharge out of the public eye. He shared that he is someone who takes time to work on my thinking, his heart, and his thoughts until he feels satisfied before moving forward,”. Unlike some artists, Oteng said he does not feel pressure to constantly release music or stay in the media cycle. “I’m not in competition with anyone,” the thoughtful composer stated.

However, that certainly doesn’t mean Ghana’s beloved “God Dey Bless Me” crooner hasn’t been hard at work—quite the contrary. Though he’s kept a low profile, Oteng revealed the exciting news of projects underway, saying “My band is rehearsing for my next project” even during his current promo tour.

It seems fans can expect more deep introspection and inspiration when Oteng does decide to release his next body of work as can clearly be noted from his latest inspiring single “Your Love”. True to thoughtful form, his new track “Your Love” has already received glowing praise since its release on January 2nd for its worshipful lyrics and stunning vocal performance.
