“You cannot do good music without money” – Joe Mettle

It is always important to also look at the business side of the music as a gospel artiste, and this fact has recently been reiterated by award winning gospel artiste Joe Mettle when he made it clear that one major fuel behind a good gospel music is money.

Joe Mettle made this assertion on Daybreak Hit on Hit Fm continuing that even though a gospel artiste’s main target is winning souls for the kingdom, the business side of the music must not be relegated to the background and not counted as important.

We are focusing on what God has called us to do by seeking the kingdom and all other things, the money and business is part of the other things.

He revealed that, much of his earnings from his music is solely devoted to investing back into his music career which is very important in order for his music to still be relevant decades to come. According to Joe, he wants to still feel proud listening to his music and watching the videos some years to come all because much investment was made to get the best.

Talking about this own recording studio – Reverb Studio, the ‘Bo noo ni’ hit maker reveals that because he is so aware of the financial investment needed for a good music, he setup his own studio adding that as a a gospel singer he believes in strictly following the leadings of the Spirit of God when working, but inasmuch as the Spirit must be allowed to work through you, which is good, the financial aspect is required to produce a work that is of the high quality.

Joe Mettle stated people are allowed to criticise but the artistes cannot please everybody, saying it is enough

once I know in my heart that I am doing what God has called me to do and God is pleased with it.

He told KMJ the fact that critics do not see Gospel artistes win souls does not mean they are not winning souls “its not everything, we put out there.”
