Pastor Helen Yawson, a dynamic vocalist, worship minister and wife of Pastor Andy Yawson (KICC – Ghana) has released yet another extraordinary album titled ‘I choose You’, which is her 5th studio album.
The album was produced by one of Nigeria’s prolific song writers, producer, gospel artiste and ‘Twale’ Hitmaker Florocka. The album according to Pastor Helen, is the best she has ever recorded and can be termed as ‘Helen Unleashed’.

About Helen Yawson
Helen Yawson is an accomplished Gospel Singer, Author, Worship Leader, Pastor, Wife and Mother. Helen, is a bridge between the “old school” and contemporary Gospel musician. Her unique piercing voice is usually heard as a pre-cursor to her husband’s sermons at the KICC dominion centre where she is an Associate Pastor. Pastor Helen, a product of KICC London, led the Choir there, before relocating to Ghana with her family.
Helen Yawson, is a Director of Voicemania, a company committed to developing vocal talents through seminars and personal tuition. She is also the Head of the Music Division of KICC (Kingsway International Christian Centre) Ghana.
For someone who didn’t hesitate to display her talent as a primary school girl and later as a teenage singer at St Anne’s School in Ibadan, Nigeria, the future couldn’t be brighter and nothing would prove a stumbling block in her desire to perform at the highest level.
As she once said; “I think I play two roles: worship and inspirational music, but when I write, I go into the role of worshipper. Worship is the context, its not a style. Worship can be rock and roll, I think it’s not confined to a genre. To me, worship is about what you’re saying, it’s not a particular style, it could be juju or fuji or raggae.”
According to the mother of two, “My first solo Album was released in 1998 and the second in Aug. 2001 with 10 tracks and 5 tracks respectively.” Following that was the highly acclaimed single, Anyday, which was released in 2006. In August 2012, she released her current album, My God and I.
In 2012, Helen Yawson took it to another level by having her first Live Concert in Accra, Ghana. This has now become an annual event.
Helen Yawson is an encouragement to many as she has overcome inherent shyness and poor self confidence to become the gem that she is today, with undeniable stage presence and a latent ability to touch lives. Her mentors are Helen Baylor, Shirley Ceasar and Babie Mason. She has over the years shared the stage with gospel greats, the likes of Andrea Crouch, Alvin Slaughter, Ron Kenoly, Jesse Dixon, Mary Mary and Daniel Winans. Helen Yawson’s ministry is undoubtedly unique, marked as it is by the heart of a woman who is determined to lead the nations in true, unbridled worship to a God who so deeply desires it. Her desire is to continue to fuse her natural talent and her profound love for God to minister the gospel of Jesus-Christ to the unsaved, and to inspire believers to live victorious, praise-filled lives.
