Yaw Sarpong honored with Doctorate in Sacred Music in Uganda
Dr. Yaw Sarpong as he now going to be refered to, has been honored with Doctorate in Sacred Music in the Ecclesiastical Bishops Conference of Africa and Kayiwa Int. University (Uganda)
For many, his music has been on a regular replay in their homes and offices and to others hearing his voice makes them reminisce growing up singing along with his powerful songs at home and in the church. Today lets celebrate the legendary Dr. Yaw Sarpong in his 40 years journey of writing and singing powerful and anointed Gospel Music.
The veteran gospel artiste with 25 music album to his credit comprising of over 100 songs deserves this wonderful doctorate award.
Also, earlier this year, the reigning VGMA artiste of the year – Joe Mettle honored Yaw Sarpong as a form of recognition and his impart and contribution to the growth of gospel music industry in Ghana during his annual ‘Praise Reloaded’ and ‘God of Miracles’ live DVD recording that took place at the Accra International Conference Center.
A live painting was done by Patrick William Dodoo on stage and auctioned immediately by Joe Mettle.
Dr Yaw Sarpong recently celebrated his 40 years in ministry with the launching of the Yaw Sarpong Foundation (YSF) with the primary objective of transforming the prisons in Ghana.
The ‘Wo Haw ne sen’ hit maker also said he wants to touch people’s live and bring hope to the hopeless with his music.
“My purpose in life is to use my music to expand the kingdom of God and I want to start with the house of God. I have therefore decided to and if I can, perform in almost all Bible believing churches in Ghana. I have already spoken with my management and we welcome any invitation extended to us to perform”, he stated.
