Regarded as one of the respected gospel musicians in Ghana with lots of young artistes looking up to her, Ohemaa Mercy had to make some tough decisions and sacrifices for her gospel music career as revealed by the artiste.
She made this revelation on Day Break Hit, the breakfast show on Hitz FM, hosted by Andy Dosty.
According to Ohemaa Mercy, she had to sacrifice her teaching career for her music ministry.
“The ministry was getting bigger, hectic and I could not risk juggling the two jobs at the same time,”
The singer explained leaving the classroom, a job she loved, was not easy for her. “I had to pray before releasing my music and eventually chose the music, I love the ministry a lot,” she added.
Ohemaa Mercy added that she has plans of opening her own school. “I just like seeing children in the classroom.” Her sacrifice has given the industry great songs like ‘Onim Me’, ‘Aseda’, ‘Oyame Beye’, ‘Adom’ and many others.
