Proverbs 2:5 KJV
Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord , and find the knowledge of God.
We do not naturally seek to honour God because of sinful desire and the pursuit of selfish desires. This can easily be changed if we understand what it means to fear God and choose to walk in the fear of God.
Six things we must know about the fear of God
1. The awesomeness of His creation. Psalm 8:3,4
2. Having a high regard for the word of God. The word of God is a non-optional truth
3. His holiness and glory calls for our worship and submission
4. His chastening of sin maybe unpleasant however it’s the expression of His love towards us.
5. Follow scriptural examples effortlessly. For example you pay your tithe without struggle.
6. Many promises are given to those who fear God. Proverbs 22:4
It’s wise to be govern by the fear of God everywhere you go
