Travis Greene and Forward City Church Join Forces for Uplifting New Album ‘Strike The Ground’
Acclaimed American gospel artist Travis Greene has teamed up with Forward City Church to release the collaborative album ‘Strike The Ground’ out today, October 13th. Recorded live at Forward City Church in Columbia, South Carolina this past July, the project captures the dynamic energy of Greene and the church coming together in worship.
‘Strike The Ground’ features Travis Greene’s signature vocals leading the Forward City choir and band through 12 tracks meant to uplift and inspire. Combining original songs by Greene with reinvigorated hymns and gospel standards, the album has a uniquely communal feel as voices join in worship.
Travis Greene has described the experience of recording live alongside the Forward City congregation as a blessing, saying their shared passion took the music to new heights. The church’s pastor Perry Noble has been focused on building a thriving multicultural community, which Greene’s music helps reinforce.
This collaborative album follows Travis Greene’s Grammy-nominated 2021 project ‘Oil + Water’ which explored themes of perseverance. Now he returns to his gospel roots by joining forces with a church community close to his heart.
Early standout tracks include the lead single “Deliver Me,” featuring Greene’s pleas for spiritual freedom over upbeat rhythms. On “Simply Yes,” his ad-libs intertwine beautifully with Forward City’s harmonies. From start to finish, ‘Strike The Ground’ overflows with inspiration.
Capturing communal joy and praise, Travis Greene’s collaboration with Forward City Church showcases the power of gospel music to unite people through faith. ‘Strike The Ground’ spreads its uplifting message starting today.
