THE PAINFUL CHRISTIAN

Philippians 1:29 For it has been granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should not only believe in him but also suffer for his sake,

Today’s theme is entitled the painful Christian. Why the painful Christian? This means the Christian that is full of pains or suffering. I have come to understand that there’s a suffering part of the gospel and most Christians hate to hear this. Naturally speaking we all hate to suffer.

The theme verse is enough to tell us that we are not called to believe without suffering. The examination of what you believe must be seen in your ability to suffer. Suffering is what makes a good character and solidifies experience. sufferings becomes unnecessary, easy and exciting, when we are able to behold the unseen glory. There’s a joy and glory after we have endured. James 1:2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;. Children don’t suffer. It takes matured adults to count it all joy. You can only count it all joy through the eye of faith. And especially when you have an awareness and a recognition of the greater glory ahead of you.

Know what you must suffer and avoid unnecessary prayers. Stop disturbing God. There are things we must suffer and no amount of anointing oil can break or lift it up. When you keep praying against what you must suffer, you will get frustrated. You may even insult God seriously. Some of the things you have been promised to suffer are insults, famine, hunger and afflictions etc. 1Thes 3:3 That no man should be moved by these afflictions: for yourselves know that we are appointed thereunto. If you know you are a man, you don’t go about saying you are a woman because someone want to kill you. The same way you must arm yourself with this mind not to chicken out in the face of afflictions. Learn to abound through the holy spirit. Speaking in tongues is the secret for abounding.

Our final destination is greater than our present suffering. 2Tim 2:10 Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
There’s an eternal glory so we must increase our staying power. Beyond our suffering there’s joy unspeakable full of glory in Christ. We count it all joy because of the eternal glory awaiting US. This is why we just couldn’t be timid even though we may feel weak and nothing before the world. I may feel the pains and pangs of life but it’s not enough to keep me down. Hallelujah!!!

CONFESSION
I sure know who I am in Jesus name. I’m not just extraordinary but I’m qualified to be super extraordinary. I refuse to chicken out in times of sufferings. My Christ did it,therefore I’ve armed myself to do it bigger for him. Glory be to the heavenly father. In Jesus name. Amen
