“It’s no wrong for gospel musicians to produce romantic songs” – Nacee

t’s now becoming a norm to see gospel musician collaborating with secular artistes on a song in the Ghanaian music industry.

Let me quote a very popular bible quotation to make a point before I tell you what some gospel musicians have to say about this trend.

Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness?

The above scripture openly admonished Christians (Christ Believers) not to team up with those who are unbelievers because, there is no way righteousness can a partner to wickedness and light to darkness.

I am not a good preacher but I believe this scripture finalised the kind of relationship which is to be established between the believer and the unbeliever. It’s a self explanatory text, and the question is, why the sudden U-turn?

Few month ago, we witness a collaboration between gospel songstress Lady Prempeh and Kuami Eugene, Bro Sammy and Kwadwo Nkansa, Nacee on “Boys Boys” record.

The gospel singer endured heavy criticisms even till now. Speaking on Hitzfm, Nacee has said that, He is just a normal human being despite him being a gospel musician so he sees nothing wrong in producing love songs besides, they need love to preach the gospel.

“Let’s not run away and behave as if we are angels from heaven. We are all normal human beings as Gospel musicians”

He lamented if he is the only gospel musician to have performed a “secular” song and to face the wrath of the mass.

I don’t know if I am the only Gospel musician who has done a “secular” song. We would accept a song that talks about love from a stranger but can’t accept it when it is coming from a gospel musician?

With Nacee, romantic songs are the songs that are supposed to be played during love making and not gospel or christian songs so there aint anything wrong for a gospel musician to collaborate with a secular artiste on a song or produces a love song.

Romantic songs are the songs that are supposed to be played during love making. Not Gospel nor Christian songs. They are for God. They are for certain moments.
