Proverbs 3:9 KJV
Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:
Christianity at heart seems to be easy for some believers whereas anything that places a demand on their finances is considered a wrong doctrine. Some people can argue about payment or otherwise of tithe. Some argue that first fruit is an old testament doctrine.
Arguments like this are mostly carried out by people who have little regard for biblical principles. Some of these people talk against giving to support God’s work but are not worried when they spend more money on very trivial and sometimes illicit things. Desist from justifying your disregard for giving in the house of God.
In many religions, their followers believe that the higher your sacrifice the higher the bond and blessing expected. If this is the case, it would be out of place for any Christian to think honoring God with his or her lips is enough. We must all honor the Lord with our wealth because aside the many blessings, we receive financial outburst (Proverbs 3:10).
You cannot truly love God and not give to support His work.
