His Word is His Name

Luke 1:38 KJV
And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

One significant thing I want to draw our minds to this season is the final response of Mary as captured in the scripture emphasis. After asking the possibility of the prophecy she allowed the lordship of God to reign. She acknowledged that she was a servant and God was the master. Some people behave as though they are Master of the master.

Even in prayer, you hear the pomposity in their voice just like the Pharisee’s prayer Jesus ever condemned in relation to the publican. Servants don’t argue unnecessarily with their masters, they seek for clarification; similarly when the Lord speak we must obey and move. She finally spoke about the fulfilment of the word in relation to the medium used. If it is God who has said it then it’s as good as being accomplished. Hang on to hope because His word would never return to Him void.

Oh Lord! Thank you for the glorious things you have in stock for me. I know that every prophetic word spoken would germinate and bear fruit in my life in Jesus name.
