The song emanated from a desperate yearn for the move of the Spirit of God. Soniya received this song during the heightened COVID season where sickness and disease was claiming lives. Some businesses were at the verge of collapse. Others were either laying off staff or eventually closing down.
The presence of the spirit of death was so evident as the number of death cases rose significantly each day. The world is still experiencing conflicts & wars, devastating disasters, diseases and sudden deaths. Now is the time for “Jehovah Rapha” – God, our healer; to move just like in the times of old.
Just like the people of Israel declared a shout on the seventh count of marching round the city of Jericho causing the Spirit of God to move… “breaking down the walls”, it is time for the people of God to arise and declare a move of the Spirit of God one more time. About Soniya
Soniya (Pronounced ‘Sonia’), is a Ghanaian gospel musician, song writer, recording and performing artiste. She began her basic education at Bishop Bowers School and then to St. Roses Senior High school for her secondary education.
She then proceeded to the university of Ghana for her tertiary education. She discovered her gift at quite a tender age, but it was fully unearthed at the Royal House Chapel International where she worships, under the auspices of the Apostle General Sam Korankye -Ankrah who is the General Overseer.
She has played several roles as backing vocalists with ace Ghanaian gospel artistes like MOG Music among others, and was also a member of the dynamic and contemporary singing group, Overflow Incorporated who have shared stages with gospel sensations such as Fred Hammond and Donnie McClurkin among others.
Soniya is gradually paving her way into the gospel music arena with the determination and passion to touch many lives with the gospel of Christ through her music.
