The UK based Ghanaian gospel singer Niella Danquah popularly known as Niiella took to social media to express her concerns about the growing number of fake fans and hypers in the Ghanaian gospel industry.
According to the sensational singer, many of these people never correct or give constructive criticism geared towards the artist’s craft improvement. Instead, many of these people clap their hands and hype the artist and go home ‘gossiping’ about how poorly a vocal performance had been.
Many gospel singers according to her get stuck at a point without any measurable growth, especially in their vocals because they feel they have ‘reached’ as they have never been offered a word of correction when they fault vocally.
She recounted ministering at a Joe Mettle worship concert at a point where she could not hit her notes perfectly with precision, but the worship was powerful and the crowd worshipped with her beautifully. At the end of the program, a brother drew her attention to this reality and she started working on it. In her quest to get better with her note precision, she got herself a vocal coach, something many gospel singers hardly do especially in Ghana.
