Diana Hamilton Unveils A 5 Block Educational Facility In Dodo Tamale Ahead Of Worship Event

Celebrated Ghanaian gospel musician Diana Hamilton has marked another milestone in her humanitarian efforts by commissioning a five-classroom block facility in Dodo, Tamale, located in Ghana’s Oti region. The project, executed through the Diana Hamilton Foundation, demonstrates her commitment to improving the lives of people in rural Ghana.

This commissioning comes after providing potable water/mechanized borehole to Tumu Community, Ghana some few years ago.

Through these initiatives, Diana Hamilton continues to demonstrate her commitment to both social development and spiritual enrichment in Ghana. Her work serves as an inspiring example of how public figures can leverage their influence and resources to create meaningful change while maintaining their artistic pursuits.

The genesis of this impactful project can be traced to a news segment on Adom TV that highlighted the challenging conditions faced by students at the Dodo Tamale Basic School. Moved by their circumstances, Hamilton took decisive action to address the situation through her foundation.

Construction began with a sod-cutting ceremony in January 2022 and reached completion in December 2024. Going beyond the initial scope, Hamilton enhanced the project by furnishing all five classrooms and adding an administrative office unit, ensuring a comprehensive educational environment for both students and teachers. The facility’s location in Dodo Tamale, situated seven hours from Ghana’s capital Accra, makes it a significant development for this rural community.

In recognition of her contributions to community development, the people of Dodo Tamale honored Hamilton with a traditional installation as Nkosuohemaa (Development Queen Mother), bestowing upon her the stool name Nana Hemaa Adwoa Amponsah I. The installation ceremony, uniquely held at the Church of Pentecost, Dodo Tamale Assembly, reflected a harmonious blend of traditional customs and Christian values.

The commissioning of this educational facility represents a transformative moment for the Dodo Tamale community. The new classrooms will provide an improved learning environment for local children, potentially enhancing educational outcomes and creating better opportunities for their future. This initiative showcases how private foundations can effectively complement government efforts in developing rural education infrastructure.

Building on this momentum of community impact, Hamilton is expanding her influence in the gospel music scene with the announcement of her “Awake Experience with Diana Hamilton 2025” worship event. The three-city concert series is scheduled to commence on February 16 in Accra, touching down in Kumasi and Sunayani as well.

This dual focus on philanthropy and ministry exemplifies Hamilton’s holistic approach to serving her community. While the educational facility addresses tangible needs in rural Ghana, her upcoming concert series promises to minister to the spiritual needs of urban populations across the country.
