Collaboration with Nicki Minaj is God ordained – Tasha responds to critics.

The American chart topping gospel artiste Tasha Cobbs has disclosed that her collaboration with the secular hiphop artiste Nicki Minaj is ordained by God and comes as an assignment to a section of her audience.

The album from the Motown Gospel Label (Capitol Christian Music Group, Inc.) also features her very good friend and a fellow gospel maven Kierra Sheard on ‘Your spirit’ – a song Tasha wrote with Kim Walker of Jesus Culture. Her spiritual father Pastor William Murphy was also featured on ‘Forever at your feet’ and also Jimi Cravity on ‘You know my name’.

Now just for you to know, ‘I’am getting ready’ was a live studio recording, featuring many other worship ministers on the backing vocals instead of her usually traditional backing vocalists. I guess this was done with the idea of togetherness of faith, love and to enforce the power of God present in the song.

Despite all these, the area of attention has been the track; I’m getting Ready which featured Nicki Minaj. Christians, Music Ministers and Christian leaders have publicly criticized her decision to have Nicki Minaj featured on her album.

“My assignment with this song was for a particular audience. Some of her listeners have never experienced God, ever and she exposed that audience in her way, to the God that she loves.”

“The testimonies that have come because of this,I would absolutely do it again. I’ve had thousands of people say to me ‘This is the first time I’ve ever bought a gospel album. This is first time I’ve ever felt God. I didn’t believe in God until I heard this song.”

“This is not an assignment that man gave to me. This is an assignment that God gave to me, and He prepared the way for me, as only God could,” she added.

Apparently Tasha Cobbs is getting ready to start a nationwide album tour. Dates and places will be released soon.
