Anyone who sets himself up as “religious” by talking a good game is self-deceived. This kind of religion is hot air and only hot air.(MSG)
The Latin word from which the English word “religion” is derived means “to bind up.” Jesus did not come to bind us up in rules and regulations or rituals of devotion, but to set us free to be god man as God intended. ( John 10:34 Jesus said, “I’m only quoting your inspired Scriptures, where God said, ‘I tell you–you are gods.’
Many of US are living a timid, mouses life. We are even afraid of our own shadows and we are observing lying vanities. We have been brought out of those rules. “Don’t do this and that”.
Christ has obeyed all the rules and all that we are supposed to do is to accept his Lordship. We are the called in Christ when we accept his Lordship.
Religion has to do with form, formalism and formulas; ritual, rules, regulations and rites; legalism, laws and laboring. The “good news” of Christianity is that it is not what we do or perform, but what Jesus has done and is doing in us. Jesus exclaimed from the cross, “It is finished!” (John 19:30). The performance is hereby accomplished! Jesus has done all the doing that needs doing for our regeneration, and continues to do all the doing that God wants to do in us. “God is at work in you both to will and to work for His good pleasure” (Phil. 2:13).
We are the obedient ones because we have accepted him. We are not trying to observe any rules but we have been given the nature of Christ.
2 Peter 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
We are partakers of his divine nature because we have accepted him.
Since we know who we are in him,we don’t act timid any more. 2 Corinthians 3:12 Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:
We don’t care what the world is saying around US because our sufficiency is of Christ and him alone.
Hallelujah!!
We are confident of him who has called US into glory and into his marvelous light. Christ our righteousness. No longer do we chicken out because we are aware of his saving grace and providence.
Give God the praise and celebrate his victory over your adversaries. Christ has handed over the victory into your hands because you are in him. Thank God.
DON’T FORGET
Christianity is not a religion where you are bound by rules and are justified by obedience to them. You can’t be justified by laws even if you can obey all of it. To be one with God, it’s all about being obedience to the call to be subject to the Lordship of Jesus. He said, ‘IT IS FINISHED’ because the price has been paid, thus the set time for me to enter into the divine family and to be called a ‘god’.
CONFESSION
As the Lord reigns on high and is clothed with majesty, so do I reign in this life in righteousness! The Lord has clothed and girded me with strength! Indeed, the words of my mouth are firmly established! I walk in perpetual victory, manifesting the glory of God in every place, by the ability of the Spirit! Halleluiah!
