#BETAwards: Kirk Franklin grabs Dr. Bobby Jones Best Gospel Awards at the BETs

Congratulation to GRAMMY Award-winning gospel singer Kirk Franklin for winning the award for Dr. Bobby Jones Best Gospel Awards at this year’s BET Awards.

The Award event held virtually as a result of the global pandemic saw, Kirk’s “Just For Me” gaining points to pick the award ahead of other nominees such as Fred Hammond, John P. Kee, Kanye West Kirk, Pj Morton, and The Clark Sisters.

“Just For Me”, written by Franklin, marks his second nomination from his chart-topping album Long Live Love, following his 2019 BET Awards nomination in this category for the hit song “Love Theory.”

So far 2020 has been good for Kirk Franklin in terms of major awards. This is therefore his second after picking up two Grammy Awards for “Best Gospel Performance/Song” (Love Theory) and “Best Gospel Album” (Long Live Love) earlier this year.
