Award-winning gospel artiste Diana Hamilton sends words of caution to fellow upcoming and mainstream gospel music ministers to avoid double standard living if they want their ministries to go far.
The “Mo Ne Yo” hitmaker made this statement on one of Pastor Edwin Dadson’s Zoom sessions last Wednesday 19th August 2020. The said topic for discussion was “Knowing God and making Him known through your Music”.
The 2019 VGMA Gospel Artiste of The Year winner explained that there are lots of worship leaders with a typical air hostess attitude on stage and off stage. She continued that some are very pious on and off stage, and are either demons or something-in- between demon.
She also added that she has sat in meetings where the name of some ministers are mentioned and either everybody is walking away or shaking their heads in disagreement and if you ask what is happening, they will tell you ‘oh she’s such a diva and we cannot handle her’.
Diana noted that getting one hit song as a minister should not make you arrogant and walking with the thought that you have arrived. She explained that when this happens some become ‘divas’ off stage and act all holy on stage.
“We need to be like Jesus Christ who humbled himself even up to death.” – she added
In conclusion, she stressed that double standard living won’t take you far as a minister because it will wither away, but living by the standard of Christ as a gospel singer can never make you lose, but take you and your ministry far.
