Akesse Brempong
A song writer, worship leader, recording artiste, music director, preacher of the Gospel and a soldier of the cross. Affectionately called ‘Da Crazy Love Dude’ Akesse Brempong born Phil Evans Akesse Brempong is undoubtedly one of the fastest rising contemporary Gospels musicians in Ghana now. He is fast becoming a household name for Gospel Reggae in Ghana.
Akesse has to his credit one album ‘ Songs in the night’. Author of such songs as ‘Closer’, ‘love so real” ‘Crazy love’. Akesse Brempong was nominated for the 4Sytetv Music Video Awards 2013, Ghana Gospel Industry Awards 2013 and BASS AWARDS 2014 nominee was recently named among the reputable Gospel Innovation-UK’s top 20 gospel artistes in the world, placing the young Ghanaian artiste at number 10 amidst gospel greats like Donnie McLurkin, William McDowell, Kari Jobe and Jamie Grace. Akesse Brempong was also voted Discovery of the Year at the Africa Gospel Music Awards 2014 help in London.
Akesse Brempong has been actively involved in the music ministry for well over a decade. Having directed groups like Shalom Singers back in Kumasi High School, Voice of the Spirit, a Kumasi based non-denominational choir, Heavenly Jewels of PIWC Kumasi and King’s Praise, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Akesse Brempong brings to bear on his music such rich musicianship and profound lyrics that transcends religious barriers.
Akesse Brempong, the prolific songwriter also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Design from KNUST. He is the Corporate Communications Officer of the Pentecost University College and a husband to Benedicta Akesse-Brempong
